Completely unexpected.
Completely what we never knew we needed.
She's 6 now.
The only thing "girlie" about her is her name...
and the occasional dress she allows me to dress her in.

She is gifted...
in facial expressions that make you feel like an idiot.
She knows what she likes
She knows what she doesn't like.
Do NOT confuse the two.
She's an adventurer and adrenaline junkie...
Which makes ppl raise their eyebrows at us.
To which I say, "YOU come spend 30 minutes with this mountain goat and see how many times she ditches YOU."
No perch is too high to jump from and no structure too perilous to scale.
Even though heart palpitations tend to fill my day with this one,
I love that she's fearless.
She will need it in the days to come.
She is a powerful intercessor...
She lays hands and settles in when we pray for others.
Yes, even at her age.
She was named "Faith" for a reason.
She's a hugger, too.
She's my pal.
Until I tell her "no."
She's a dancer and I love that our house of faith allows her the freedom to express her love for Jesus in this way...Without interruption or correction for being a distraction. Sometimes I find myself watching her in awe and feeling the very near Presence of our Father as she twirls and jumps and giggles, knowing that He is dancing with her...capturing her heart.

She's musical...big surprise, right?
She will make up songs about anything and everything and her favorite thing to do is bring her note pad in when I'm working on an instrument and compose.
This makes me feel ways I really can explain other than, "connected". She gets it, which means she gets me...and that is a good feeling to have as a parent.
I pray it lasts into, and beyond her teenage years.
